The National fire Department has asked the population to take extreme care in Easter week, not only in tourist points but also when leaving their homes.
The recommendations for leaving on a trip are disconnecting all electrical appliances and closing the gas valve: if you’re travelling by car, rented or your own, make sure the exhaust pipe is in good condition, as well as the electrical system and possible fuel leakages.
During the trip, the fire department asks for special attention to be paid in not throwing lit cigarette butts out of the vehicle and not transporting cans of inflammable fuels. They also remind people of the importance of always travelling with a portable fire extinguisher.
If the destination is a house, and this required prior cleaning, then the fire Department suggests that the burning of waste materials and dead leaves be done in a burner or a grill, slowly. “Keep the fire under control at all times and don’t allow children to play with it” they explained.
If the final destination is a camping site, then they pointed out the importance of complying with the norms established by the premises and once the tent is up make a reconnaissance of the premises in order to identify the exit routes in case of fire.
If you have a campfire, make sure they are at least 5 metres away from vehicles and tents. The area surrounding the campfire must be clean and away from any type of fuel.
It’s important to have a container with water in it and to make sure fires are put out completely when abandoning the area.
If you see a fire of the beginning of one, call the fire department: 104 or 911.
Sport Hunting
In Easter week there is a lot of hunting activity regulated by the Ministry of Farming, Agriculture and Fishing (MGAP) through the General Directorate of Natural Renewable resources.
Every year MGAP informs about the authorized species and areas and the daily quota of animals that can be hunted, as well as the permits that are required.
The ministry also points out that these activities can only be carried out with the appropriate permits. The fruits of the hunting session must be transported with this permit and cannot be commercialized. The permits for hunting can be obtained at RENARE and are valid for all national territory and cannot be transferred to another person nor photocopied.
It is prohibited to hunt at night, from vehicles, with a firearm within a radius of three kilometers of a populated area or rural schools, public paths, or without the consent of the owner or occupant of the rural area.
