VÁZQUEZ PRESENTED STRATEGY TO FA

Ex President Tabaré Vazquez went to the FA headquarters on Wednesday to present “notes on ideological update”.

Ex president Tabaré Vázquez made his way  to FA headquarters  on Wednesday to meet with leaders and the Coalition’s Program commission. In the meeting Vazquez presented a document with “notes on ideological update for the Frente Amplio”.

Though the content of the document was known to many, the meeting on Wednesday was the official presentation, and Vazquez handed it in to FA president Jorge Brovetto and 41 leaders.

Jorge Galcerano, from the Frente Amplio Propaganda Commission, told Montevideo Portal that it was a very long meeting in which many internal issues were addressed. 

In the document presented by the former President, FA is encouraged to analyze its views on certain issues regarding environment, internationalism, the relation between politics and democracy, the concepts of freedom, equality and citizen rights as well as education and production and the balance between State and market.

Galcerano added that the meeting was good for the preparation of the next FA plenary on September 24th. In that instance the members of the organization will vote Vazquez “permanent political figure” .

The votes needed for this to happen are 4/5 of those present and if achieved will allow the ex President to attend and participate in meetings, exercising full voting rights in the next plenaries.
