URUGUAYAN HOTEL RANKED 2ND MOST RECOMMENDABLE IN LATIN AMERICA

The well known magazine “travel and leisure” dedicated a chapter to “Uruguay undiscovered” describing Colonia as the “best kept secret of South America”, ranking the hotel in Carmelo as the second most recommended in Latin America.

The Four Seasons Resort in Carmelo got 95.2 points over 100 and was ranked second in Latin America in the list of 500 most recommendable hotels made by Travel + Leisure from American Express. At worldwide level the hotel was ranked 20th.

The first place was awarded to Hotel Explora Rapa Nui in Easter Island which obtained 95.47 points, but regarding “value” the magazine considered the Four Seasons in Caremelo to be in the first place of the work ranking.
According to information published by Presidency, the review points out that the surroundings of the hotel are very calm and quiet, the cabins are wooden and Asian style and there is a magnificent golf course as well as high end services for the guests.

The magazine also has an article names “Uruguay undiscovered” which defines Colonia as the best kept secret of South America. “While sexy Punta del Este and its chic neighbor José Ignacio have hoarded attention for the past few years, visitors should not overlook the west of the country. Colonia del Sacramento is the perfect mix of luxury and authenticity, with post colonial ruins, countryside landscapes, elegant farms, homemade food booths and even an emerging artistic scene” read the article.

"Buyers will fall in love with the boutiques that offer handmade ceramics and woolen sweaters foodies will love the European style restaurants” it concluded.
